Getting married without pre-marriage prep is like starting a business or any important venture without preparing. Half of all marriages end in divorce and only half of those that endure are truly happy in the long run. Many happy engaged couples assume that they won't be contributing to these statistics. Some mistakenly believe that having lived together or known each other for a long time will prepare them for marriage. Surprisingly, research shows that cohabiting couples have no better chance at marriage success than others.

 

Most couples just don't realize that good, skill-based pre-marriage education can reduce the risk of divorce by up to thirty percent and lead to a significantly happier marriage, according to marriage research. It can also reduce the stress of the pre-wedding period. Just a little effort now can make your odds a whole lot better over the long run. You want to do everything you can to ensure that your dreams of a great marriage and a great life are realized.

 

Our premarital therapy program is designed to help couples get their marriage off to a great start and motivate them to continue to develop a strong marriage. The program includes taking the PREPARE premarital inventory and receiving feedback during counseling sessions. The PREPARE/ENRICH is a program based on a set of five inventories that examine major relationship issues a couple may experience.

 

A strong marriage positively effects each person's happiness, physical health and emotional wellbeing. A strong marriage is also the foundation of strong families and healthy communities. A vital step in building a strong marriage is to prepare for it by participating in a high quality premarital program.

 

Cost of Premarital Counseling Program

 

The cost for the 6 Session Premarital Program starts at $620.00. This amount includes the PREPARE premarital inventory (completed in office or online) and six counseling sessions (50 min each).  If you pay upfront, we will give one session free ($95 reduction).

 

This program will enable you and your partner to:

 

• Explore your relationship strength and growth areas
  

• Strengthen your communication skills, including assertiveness and active listening
  

• Resolve your conflicts using the "Ten Steps Procedure"
  

• Explore your relationship & families-of-origin issues with the "Family and Couple Map"
  

• Develop a workable budget and financial plan
  

• Develop your personal, couple and family goals

 

Couples consistently report very positive growth in their relationship as a result of completing the Prepare/Enrich program.

 

If the couple desires, additional sessions may be added in order to deal more deeply with a particular interest or need.  Also, individual counseling may be incorporated in the process to deal with personal issues.
